(Former President of Iraq) Abdul Salam Arif was an Iraqi political leader best remembered for his service as the President of Iraq from 8 February 1963 until his death on 13 April 1966. Abdul Salam Arif played an important role in the 1958 Iraqi coup d'état, which overthrew the Hashemite monarchy on 14 July 1958.
