(Historian) Jaroslav Pelikan was a scholar of the history of Christianity and Christian theology. He earned a Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. He joined Yale University in 1962 and had a brilliant academic career. He was the author of more than 30 books. He was a recipient of the John W. Kluge Prize for Lifetime Achievement in the Human Sciences.
