Description: (American Actress Who was Known for Her Off-Beat Roles in Screwball Comedies)

Carole Lombard was an American film actress known for her energetic and often unusual roles in screwball comedies of the 1930s. Starting her career at a very young age, she became one the greatest American female screen legends of classic Hollywood cinema within a very short span. She appeared in her first movie when she was barely twelve years old. Although the role was small and the movie was unsuccessful it aroused in her a hunger for acting and by sixteen, she began an acting career at a salary of $75 per week. From there, she became the highest paid star in Hollywood within a span of thirteen years. Although the transition from silent era to talkies had helped her to establish herself to some extent, it was mainly her talent and hard work, which helped her to reach the pinnacle. She was great as a human being also and was glad that the taxes she paid helped to make her country better. She also maintained close relationship with her family and friends. Her only regret was that she could not be a mother.
