Susan Diane Wojcicki served as the CEO of YouTube from 2014 to 2023. Wojcicki began her career working as a management consultant for R.B. Webber & Company and Bain & Company after completing her bachelor’s degree in history and literature at Harvard University, a master’s degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She also worked in the marketing division of Intel before joining Google in 1999, as its first marketing manager. Wojcicki played a pivotal role in Google's growth and success, eventually becoming Senior Vice President of Advertising & Commerce. She was instrumental in overseeing two of Google’s largest acquisitions: DoubleClick in 2007, and YouTube in 2006. Her leadership was critical in transforming YouTube into the world’s leading video-sharing platform. In 2017, Wojcicki was ranked sixth on Forbes' list of “The World's 100 Most Powerful Women.” She has also been a strong advocate for social causes, including promoting coding education in schools, addressing gender bias in tech companies, expanding paid parental leave policies, and supporting global humanitarian efforts, such as aiding Syrian refugees.
