Kevin Bacon is a well-known American actor, director, and musician. He best known for his roles in films, such as ‘JFK’, a conspiracy thriller, ‘A Few Good Men’, a legal drama film, and the superhero movie ‘X-Men: First Class’. Born in Philadelphia, Bacon started acting from the age of 17 when he took part in a theatre production. He eventually started appearing in television soap operas. His first prominent role was in the slasher film ‘Friday the 13th’. Directed by Sean S. Cunningham, the film was a huge success commercially. He gained attention after his portrayal of Willie O’ Keefe in the conspiracy thriller ‘JFK’. The film, which revolved around the assassination of US President JFK, was a huge success commercially. It was nominated for eight Oscars, out of which it won two. Other films he is known for include the docudrama ‘Apollo 13’, the drama film ‘Woodsman’ and the superhero film ‘X-Men: First Class’. His notable works on television include the lead roles in the HBO TV series ‘The Following’ and the HBO TV film’ Taking Chance’. The latter won him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a TV film or miniseries. Bacon is one of the best and most prominent actors of Hollywood who has never been nominated for an Oscar. However, he has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contribution to cinema.
