(Fifth President of Zambia (2011 – 2014)) Michael Sata was a Zambian politician who served as the fifth president of Zambia from 2011 until his death in 2014. He was a social democrat and led the Patriotic Front party. Sata started his political journey as a minister in the 1990s under President Frederick Chiluba. Later, he founded the PF party in 2001 after transitioning into opposition. Known as "The King Cobra," Sata rose as a prominent opposition figure and eventually claimed victory in the presidential election in 2011 after a decade in opposition.
