Jonathan Pryce is a popular Welsh actor and singer. Known for his versatility, he gained much fame for his role in the popular 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film series. Born in Carmel, Wales, UK, he began acting in theatre from his college days. Later he was awarded a scholarship to study at the 'Royal Academy of Dramatic Art'. He began his acting career by making guest appearances on popular TV shows. He also appeared in plays such as 'Comedians' for which he won a 'Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play'. He appeared as the titular character in a production of 'Hamlet' the famous play by William Shakespeare. His performance earned him the 'Laurence Olivier Award' for Best Actor.
