Ieng Sary was a co-founder and senior member of the Khmer Rouge, playing a significant role in the Cambodian Genocide. He served as the foreign minister and deputy prime minister in the government of Democratic Kampuchea as part of the Communist Party of Kampuchea. Referred to as "Brother Number Three," he held a prominent position within the regime, following Pol Pot and Nuon Chea in command. Sary faced charges of crimes against humanity but passed away before a verdict could be reached.
