Trưng sisters

The Trưng sisters were Luoyue military leaders who led a rebellion against Chinese domination of Vietnam in AD 40. They ruled for three years and are revered as national heroines. Trưng Trắc became the first female monarch and queen in Vietnamese history, earning the title Queen Trưng. Born in Jiaozhi, they led a successful uprising until their deaths in battle against the Eastern Han general Ma Yuan. Their legacy as brave and pioneering leaders continues to inspire generations in Vietnam.
