(Aviator) Phạm Tuân is a retired Vietnamese Air Force Fighter pilot and cosmonaut who made history as the first Vietnamese cosmonaut and the first person from an Asian country to fly in space. He achieved this milestone by launching aboard the Soyuz 37 mission as an Interkosmos research cosmonaut. For his contributions to space exploration, he was awarded the prestigious title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
