Description:
(Political Figure) Phan Boi Chau played a significant role in Vietnamese nationalism in the 20th century. He established the Duy Tan Hoi organization in 1904 and later resided in Japan, where he campaigned for Vietnam's freedom from French colonialism. Inspired by Sun Yat-sen, he founded the Vietnamese Restoration League in China. Despite facing arrest by French authorities in 1925 and being found guilty of treason, Chau remained a leading advocate for Vietnamese independence. He spent the rest of his life under house arrest in Huế.
