Ida Holz Bard is a Uruguayan engineer, computer scientist, professor, and researcher, known as a pioneer in computing and the Internet. She played a leading role in the development of information and communications technology in Uruguay, leading the installation of the first Internet node in the country in 1994. Holz has received prestigious awards, such as the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award from LACNIC and being inducted into the Internet Society's Hall of Fame in 2013. She is recognized for her significant contributions to the permanent development of the Internet.
