Description:
(Former Senator of Uruguay) Wilson Ferreira Aldunate was a prominent Uruguayan politician within the National Party. He held various significant positions, including Minister of Agriculture and leader of the Por la Patria faction in the Senate. Despite winning the popular vote in the 1971 presidential election, he was unable to secure the presidency due to the Ley de Lemas system. Following the 1973 coup, he opposed the dictatorship from exile and bravely returned to Uruguay in 1984, despite facing arrest.
