Mauricio Rosencof

Mauricio Rosencof is a well-known Uruguayan playwright, poet, journalist, and former political activist. He was actively involved in the Communist Youth Union and the National Liberation Movement (Tupamaros). Despite facing arrest and torture in 1972, he remained dedicated to his writing, producing numerous books. His time in prison for 12 years, alongside other prominent individuals, inspired the film "A Twelve-Year Night." Rosencof currently serves as the Director of Culture for the Municipality of Montevideo and resides in the capital city.
