Mehmed IV, also known as Mehmed the Hunter, ruled as the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1648 to 1687. He came to power after a coup at a young age and presided over the empire's resurgence in the Köprülü era. Under his leadership, the Ottoman Empire expanded its territories in Europe through military victories. Mehmed was hailed as a gazi, or "holy warrior," due to his military successes and the political stability he brought to the empire.
