Zine El Abidine Ben Ali

Description: (2nd President of Tunisia)
Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was the second president of Tunisia from 1987 to 2011. He came to power in a bloodless coup d'état and led an authoritarian regime characterized by non-democratic elections where he routinely claimed victory by large margins. Ben Ali was ousted during the Tunisian revolution in 2011 and sought refuge in Saudi Arabia. Despite being convicted in absentia on various charges, he lived in exile until his passing in 2019.
