Richard "Torpedo" Thompson, a Trinidadian sprinter known for his speed in the 100 meters, has achieved significant success in his career. With a personal best time of 9.82 seconds, he stands among the top ten fastest sprinters in history. Thompson demonstrated his talent during his time at Louisiana State University, where he set a new NCAA indoor 60 meters record in 2008. Notably, he secured a silver medal in the 100 meters and a gold medal in the 4x100 meters relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
