(Politician) John Samuel Malecela was the Prime Minister of Tanzania from November 1990 to December 1994. After his term as Prime Minister, he served as vice-chairman of the CCM from 1995 to 2007. Malecela has remained a member of the CCM Central Committee to this day. He notably led the Tanzanian delegation at the first Tokyo International Conference on African Development in October 1993, highlighting his important role in international conferences and diplomacy.
