Bashiru Ally Kakurwa is a Tanzanian academic, diplomat, and politician. He has served in various prominent roles including as the Chief Secretary of the President of Tanzania in the 5th Cabinet appointed in February 2021 by President Magufuli. Prior to this, he held the position of Secretary General of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi political party in Tanzania. Bashiru also has a background as a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam. In March 2021, he was appointed as a member of parliament by President Samia Suluhu Hassan as part of a cabinet reshuffle.
