Mizengo Pinda was the 11th Prime Minister of Tanzania, serving from 2008 to 2015. He started his political journey as a Member of Parliament in 2000 and held various ministerial roles, including Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Minister overseeing regional administration and local governments. Pinda assumed the position of Prime Minister in 2008, where he faced criticism for alleged corruption. Amid pressure from fraudulent payment allegations, he resigned in 2014. Following his term, he attempted to secure the presidential nomination in 2015 without success.
