Al-Buḥturī, a renowned Arab poet from Syria, gained recognition from authorities in Ma'arrat an-Nu'man after visiting Abū Tammām in Homs. He later moved to Baghdād, where he composed poems praising the caliph and court members. Despite residing in Baghdād, he often expressed admiration for Aleppo in his poetry, especially in his verses dedicated to Aiwa. Known for his classical style and panegyrics, Al-Buḥturī earned a living through his poetry and became famous as a skilled panegyrist.
