Description:
(Emperor)
Numerian and his brother Carinus jointly served as Roman emperors from 283 to 284. Numerian's professional background included his father Carus's appointment as praetorian prefect under Emperor Probus in 282. Being the son of a renowned general, Numerian probably underwent thorough education and military preparation, equipping him for his eventual position as co-emperor. Unfortunately, Numerian's reign was cut short by his unexpected death in November 284, resulting in Carinus assuming sole leadership.
