Salah Jadid

Salah Jadid, a Syrian military officer and politician, led the left-wing faction of the Ba'ath Party in Syria. From 1966 to 1970, he held a position of power as the de facto leader of the country. Jadid played a key role in implementing socialist policies and promoting Arab unity. Despite his efforts, he was removed from power by Hafez al-Assad's Corrective Movement in 1970, bringing an end to his political career in Syria.
