(Saint)
Maron, a 4th-century Syriac Christian hermit monk, led a religious movement that established the Maronite Church, in communion with the Holy See and the Catholic Church. Renowned for his spiritual asceticism and connection to God through nature, Maron was highly respected within Christian communities. He played a crucial role in advancing Christian missions in the region, with one of his disciples spreading Maronite Christianity in Lebanon. Portrayed in a black monastic habit with a crosier staff, Maron's feast day in the Maronite Church is February 9.
