Zenobia

Description: (Queen of Palmyra Who Revolted against Rome but Was Eventually Defeated)
Zenobia ruled as queen of the Palmyrene Empire in Syria during the third century. Following her husband's assassination, she became regent for her son and effectively wielded power. Zenobia led a victorious campaign that expanded her empire's control over much of the Roman East, including the annexation of Egypt. Despite declaring Palmyra's independence from Rome, she was later captured by Emperor Aurelian and sent into exile in Rome.
