Henrik Olof Stenson is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the PGA as well as on the European tours. Born in Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden, he started playing golf at the age of 12. Later, he started taking part in junior and amateur tournaments. A few years after he started playing professionally, he reached the top 20 of the Official Golf Ranking in 2006. The following year, he reached the top 10. He won the US PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup as well as the European Tour’s Race to Dubai in 2013. This made him the first player to win both, and in a single season. He also became the first male Swedish major champion after he won the 2016 Open Championship at the Royal Troon. With a major championship record score of 264, he has not only been the European Tour Golfer of the year twice, but was also in the list of the world’s top ten golfers for more than 250 weeks. It was announced in 2014 that he had invested in PGA Sweden National, which is his first venture in golf course ownership.
