Sami Al-Haj, also known as Sami Mohy El Din Muhammed Al Hajj, is a Sudanese journalist who worked for the Al Jazeera network. In 2001, he was arrested by the Pakistani army while on assignment in Afghanistan and held in the Guantanamo Bay detainment camp for over six years. Upon his release in 2008, he wrote a book titled "Prisoner 345" detailing his experiences. Al-Haj later attempted legal action against George W. Bush. His story was documented in a film called "Prisoner 345" by Al Jazeera producer Ahmad Ibrahim.
