Safia Elhillo is a respected Sudanese-American poet known for her unique voice in both written and spoken poetry. She earned a BA from the Gallatin School at New York University and an MFA in poetry from The New School. Elhillo's poetry has received critical praise and she has been recognized with several prestigious awards. She has performed internationally, appeared alongside renowned poets like Sonia Sanchez, and taught at respected institutions including Split This Rock and Tin House Summer Workshop. Elhillo is currently a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University.
