(Sri Lankan Former Professional Cricketer) Kumar Sangakkara is a retired Sri Lankan cricketer recognized for his exceptional skills as a wicket-keeper-batter. He played in 134 Test matches for Sri Lanka, captaining the team in fifteen of them. Sangakkara also had successful stints with Nondescripts Cricket Club and Surrey County Cricket Club in first-class cricket. He performed admirably in all formats of international cricket, ranking as the second-highest run-scorer of all time with 28,016 runs and 63 centuries. Since retiring, he has worked as a commentator for Sky Sports, served as President of the MCC, and coached Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. In June 2021, Sangakkara was honored with induction into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
