Embeth Davidtz is an American actress, best known for portraying Miss Honey in the 1996 fantasy comedy film ‘Matilda.’ She is also famous for playing a double role in the 1999 science fiction film ‘Bicentennial Man.’ Her performance in ‘Bicentennial Man’ earned her a nomination at the ‘Blockbuster Entertainment Awards.’ Davidtz started her acting career in South Africa, where she appeared in Afrikaans-language plays, such as ‘Stille Nag’ and ‘A Chain of Voices.’ In 1990, she won the ‘DALRO Award’ for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her performance in a South African play titled ‘Houd-den-bek.’ After making her American film debut in 1992, Davidtz went on to appear in several films and TV series.
