Borut Pahor is a Slovenian politician who served as President of Slovenia from 2012 to 2022 after previously being the Prime Minister from 2008 to 2012. He is a member and former president of the Social Democrats, and has also served in the National Assembly and as its speaker. Pahor was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2004. Despite facing a confidence vote in 2011, he remained as Prime Minister until being replaced in 2012. He was re-elected as President in 2017.
