Nyarroh

Nyarroh was a respected Mende chief in Bandasuma, Sierra Leone, renowned for her adept management of crucial roads connecting the coast to inland regions. She skillfully mediated discussions between British officers and Mende chiefs, significantly shaping diplomatic ties. Despite facing capture and captivity during conflicts, she later signed a friendship agreement with the British in 1890. This partnership led her to participate in the colony's administration until her death in 1914, leaving behind a lasting legacy of leadership and diplomacy in the area.
