(Basketball player) Boubacar Richard Aw, a former professional basketball player from Senegal, had a successful career both domestically and internationally. After playing high school basketball in Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina, he went on to attend Georgetown University for four years. Aw then played professionally for a decade in Central and South America, while also representing Senegal in international competitions. Notable achievements include winning the gold medal at the 1997 FIBA Africa Championship and participating in the 1998 FIBA World Championship. Following his retirement from basketball, Aw transitioned into a career as a teacher and youth basketball coach.
