Sam Heughan is a Scottish actor, producer, author and entrepreneur who is most recognised for his portrayal of Jamie Fraser in the drama series Outlander. The series won him a huge fan following as well as various awards. He also turned producer with the series and produced twelve episodes in 2020. Earlier, he began his career on stage and won appreciation for his work in the Outlying Islands. His television debut came with the miniseries Island At War. Since then, he has appeared in numerous projects including television series Doctors and television movie A Princess for Christmas. His film credits include The Spy Who Dumped Me and Bloodshot. On stage, he performed in Romeo and Juliet and Batman Live (played Batman). In addition, Heughan has lent his voice to a video game; launched his own whiskey brand The Sassenach; co-authored a book – Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other – with Outlander co-star Graham McTavish and has also established his own charity fundraiser My Peak Challenge.
