(Darts player) Jocky Wilson was a renowned Scottish professional darts player who achieved success in the sport during the late 20th century. He quickly rose to prominence after turning professional in 1979 and went on to win the World Professional Darts Championship in 1982 and 1989, in addition to clinching the British Professional Championship four times between 1981 and 1988. Despite his rugged image and lifestyle, Wilson was known for his fierce competitiveness, often engaging in memorable matches against notable rivals such as Eric Bristow, Bob Anderson, and John Lowe. Unfortunately, health issues forced him into an abrupt retirement in 1995, leading to his retreat from the public eye until his passing in 2012.
