Abd Allah ibn Sa'd ibn Abi al-Sarh was an Arab administrator, scribe, and military commander. He was an early convert to Islam, served as a scribe of the Quran, and as the governor of Upper Egypt during the reign of Caliph Uthman. Abd Allah co-founded the Islamic navy with the future caliph Mu'awiyah I and played a pivotal role in the conquest of Cyprus and the defeat of a Byzantine fleet near Alexandria.
