Alauddin Husain Shah

Ala-ud-din Husain Shah, an independent late medieval Sultan of Bengal, founded the Hussain Shahi dynasty. He came to power by assassinating the Abyssinian Sultan, whom he had served as wazir. Under his rule, Bengal flourished and entered a golden age. Ala-ud-din was known for his effective governance and consolidation of power. His son, Nusrat Shah, succeeded him after his death in 1519.
