Description:
(Martyr) Saints Cosmas and Damian were Arabian-born twin brothers who were early Christian martyrs and physicians. They practiced medicine and surgery without accepting payment, earning them the title of anargyroi, or 'the silverless'. Their selfless healing abilities attracted many to the Christian faith, as they were reputed to cure various ailments and perform miraculous healings. Despite facing persecution for their Christian beliefs and fame as healers, they continued to practice medicine and spread their faith until their arrest and martyrdom.
