Simona Păuca, a retired Romanian artistic gymnast, gained fame for her outstanding performance at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. She won a gold medal in the balance beam event, sharing the victory with her teammate Ecaterina Szabo by presenting a challenging and original routine. Păuca also contributed to her team's gold medal and clinched a bronze in the all-around competition. After retiring from competitive gymnastics, she shifted towards coaching and began mentoring young athletes at her hometown club, Dinamo București.
