Iván Rodríguez Torres, also known as "Pudge" and "I-Rod," is a retired Puerto Rican MLB catcher. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in baseball history and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017. Throughout his career, Rodríguez played for several teams, including the Rangers, Marlins, Tigers, Yankees, Astros, and Nationals. He earned numerous accolades, such as the AL MVP award in 1999 and winning the 2003 World Series with the Marlins. Rodríguez also played in the 2006 World Series with the Tigers. Known for setting a record for most games caught and having an exceptional caught-stealing percentage, he continues to be celebrated for his contributions to the sport. As part of his post-retirement endeavors, he served as a Shadow Representative from Puerto Rico and is set to be inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2024.
