(Politician, Lawyer) Mário Soares was a Portuguese politician remembered for his service as the Prime Minister of Portugal on two occasions; he served as the prime minister from 1976 to 1978 and again from 1983 to 1985. He also served as the President of Portugal from 1986 to 1996. Soares also served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs between 1974 and 1978.
