Pedro Álvares Cabral

Description: (Nobleman)
Pedro Álvares Cabral, a Portuguese nobleman, military commander, navigator, and explorer, is renowned for discovering Brazil. In 1500, he led an expedition to India, following Vasco da Gama's route, in an attempt to establish trade relations and circumvent the spice trade monopoly. Cabral's fleet unexpectedly landed in Brazil, claimed it for Portugal, and then continued its journey to India. Despite facing challenges such as storms and attacks by Arab merchants, Cabral's successful voyage brought back valuable spices, which greatly benefited the Portuguese Crown financially and contributed to the expansion of the Portuguese Empire.
