He was one of the earliest members of the team of ‘Galacticos’ at Real Madrid. Luis Figo was also the leading member of the Portuguese national team and was the part of the ‘Golden Generation’ of the national team as they became a team that was feared by everyone. Figo led the team to its best ever finish in the World Cup by finishing third in the World Cup in Germany in 2006 and his place in history as a Portuguese football icon is secured.
