Beatriz Merino is a Peruvian lawyer, politician, and academic. She is best known for her service as the Prime Minister of Peru in 2003. She is the first female politician to serve as Peru's prime minister. Merino also served as the Public Defender of Peru from 2005 to 2011. She is currently serving as the President of César Vallejo University.
