Verónika Mendoza is a Peruvian-French psychologist, educator, and politician known for her progressive political views and advocacy for social justice. She founded the New Peru movement and began her political career in the Peruvian Nationalist Party. Mendoza was elected to the Peruvian Congress and later formed her own political party, the Sowing Movement. She then joined the Broad Front coalition. Mendoza ran for President of Peru in the 2016 and 2021 general elections, gaining significant support but falling short of qualifying for the run-off both times.
