Amin al-Husseini was a Palestinian Arab nationalist and Muslim leader who opposed Zionism. He held several positions, including Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, where he promoted Islam and advocated for Arab nationalism against Zionism. He fled during the Arab revolt in Palestine, seeking refuge in Lebanon, Iraq, Fascist Italy, and Nazi Germany during World War II. He later helped establish the All-Palestine Government in Gaza but was eventually marginalized by the Palestine Liberation Organization.
