(Norwegian Ski Jumper) Asbjørn Ruud was a highly acclaimed Norwegian ski jumper who excelled in the sport during the 1930s and 1940s. He achieved significant success in international ski jumping competitions, winning a gold medal at the 1938 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. Ruud also emerged victorious at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1948, following the end of the German occupation of Norway during World War II. Additionally, he performed admirably at the 1948 Winter Olympics, finishing seventh in the individual large hill competition.
