Andreas Thorkildsen

Andreas Thorkildsen, a retired Norwegian track and field athlete specialized in the javelin throw, had a remarkable career. He won Olympic gold in 2004 and 2008, European Championships in 2006 and 2010, and a World Championship in 2009. Thorkildsen made history as the first male javelin thrower to hold the titles of European, World, and Olympic Champion simultaneously. He also earned three silver medals at the World Championships. His personal best throw of 91.59 m in 2006 remains the Norwegian record.
