Jang Yeong-jin transitioned from a career in wireless communications in North Korea to becoming a writer in South Korea. He published his autobiography "A Mark of Red Honor" in April 2015, which was later translated into English. Jang also has plans to write a fictional novel focusing on women in North Korea. In 2021, he intended to marry his partner Min-su, while continuing to pursue his passion for writing.
