(Boxer) Dick Tiger, a Nigerian professional boxer, achieved the undisputed middleweight and light-heavyweight championships. He relocated to Liverpool, England, and then to the United States to advance his boxing career. During the Nigerian Civil War, Tiger served as a Lieutenant in the Biafran army, providing hand-to-hand combat training to soldiers. Inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991, he was honored as Fighter of the Year by The Ring magazine and the Boxing Writers Association of America on multiple occasions. Tiger is widely regarded as one of the top boxers of the 1960s and the 20th century.
